Transport for London’s annual Bus Safety Summit took place last week. This year’s theme was ‘Safe Behaviours’ with a focus on how bus drivers, bus passengers and other road users interact. David Cutts, our Managing Director, attended and he was joined by:
· David Wecke – Head of Safety and Sustainability
· Shahlene Johnson – Driver Manager
· Dion Darke - Driver Support Supervisor
Several guest speakers addressed this important event and a wide range of issues were considered, including vehicle ergonomics, advances in bus telematics and analysis of bus passenger behaviour. Representatives from Lime and the Transport Research Laboratory also contributed.
As the pictures show, we engaged with colleagues on bridge strike prevention, in the process sharing best practice, especially regarding training, education, familiarisation of problematic locations and the benefits of our close partnership with Network Rail.
