Transport UK London Bus is thrilled to share the news that Lorna Murphy has been named a finalist in the prestigious Everywoman, Transport and Logistics Awards. Lorna's recognition in the Customer/Passenger Award leadership category reflects her commitment to exceptional customer service, which has led to outstanding business results.

Lorna Murphy's journey at Transport UK London Bus is a testament to her dedication and passion. Her career began in 2005 as part of the National Express graduate programme, and she has steadily risen through the ranks during nearly two decades at Transport UK London Bus (formerly Abellio). Now, as the Operations Director, Lorna has been instrumental in the company's success, leading the mobilisation of over 40 new contracts.

Under Lorna's leadership, Transport UK London Bus has become an exemplar of diversity and inclusion. Today, women make up over 40% of the operations management team, and our driver population is a diverse mix of 62% global majority and over 70 different nationalities. Lorna's commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace ensures that TUKLB is a company for everyone, by everyone, with customers' needs at the forefront of operations.

Lorna’s focus on people and customers extends beyond her role at Transport UK London Bus; she was a founding member of the Women in Bus & Coach initiative, launched in 2023, and is also a board member of the charity.

Lorna Murphy, Operations and HR Director, Transport UK London Bus, said:

“I am deeply honoured to be a finalist in the Everywoman Awards and incredibly proud to be recognised for the work we do to serve our customers. One of the reasons I was attracted to this industry was because of the clear people focus I saw demonstrated right from the start. We really are in the people business, not the bus business”
