2,000 and counting!

We were delighted to host the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, at Battersea Garage this morning to commemorate the milestone of more than 2,000 zero-emission buses in service across the capital.

The Mayor was joined by MP for Battersea, Marsha de Cordova, Transport for London (TfL) Chief Operating Officer, Claire Mann, and TfL Director of Buses, Lorna Murphy.

David Cutts, Managing Director of Transport UK London Bus said:

“I thank the Mayor and TfL for marking this achievement at Battersea Garage, which is the capital’s busiest.

Working with TfL and our supply chain, Transport UK are showcasing world-class public transport, in the process improving air quality and helping to secure UK-based employment.

As a result of this partnership, all six of our garages run zero-emission services and with sustained investment over the next few years, we will collectively achieve decarbonisation of the entire red bus network.”

As the images show, Fleet Number 3115, a 2025-plate Wrightbus Electroliner, now carries a distinctive livery and is scheduled to enter service imminently on Route 337 (Clapham Junction to Richmond).

Thank you to all involved in this visit, especially our driver, the superb Amanda Haynes.

Please look out for more from us next week.
